I am trying to secure a new server and as I am not an a real
security expert I'd be glad to get some inuput.
This is a Fedore-3 based server (I already shut down cupd -
why do they need this in a server anyway ?)
I ran nmap on the server and got this:
Port State Service
22/tcp open

You can also look at 'nail', a 'mail' replacement, with many new
features.

Yea, keeping support inside Israel while still getting international

Hi Tzafrir, two reasons cause me to try and examine the accessibility of
X-Windows environment.
1. As you probably saw in my first message, I'm a software engineer seeking
for a new job.
As Linux is my work environment, my policy is that the more software and

Hi All.
I am trying to build a Linux based (haven't yet decided on the exact
distro/s) cluster for testing a complicated server side application.
Building the cluster is not my problem though...
What I need is an idea/software (open source or closed) that'll help me
keep this cluster "sterile".
Hi rafi,
I am curious, how can you see a GUI when you need to develop one since I
think
this is the main hurdle when you can't see graphics.
In addition, in my work I many time use case tools for UML, ERD and
other diagrams.
What case tools do you use that supports braille?
And last, does it matter

Thx Ami.
Your suggestion seems to be exactly what I've been looking for :)
I'll start investigating it immediately and will let you know (with your
permission of course) how I am doing.
Thx,
Amit

Hi all,
I fiddled to much with things I really didn't understand, udev and 2.6.8
kernel plus other things (it was fun).
now I have reinstalled debian on another partition.
I was wondering if there is a way to get information from my old debian
to quickly get my new one to have the same apps and

Additionally, I just installed 2.03 copied my evolution/local/*
directories and they don't show up.
Evolution didn't install a /home/me/evolution folder, has this changed?
how do I get my old folders to come back to life?
Thanks

This part of the Evolution upgrade prcess was, surprisingly enough, a

I adhered religiously to aptitude.
When Evolution 2.0.3 started up for the first time, it imported my

It then asked me if I want to delete th

from the dpkg man page:

Get list of package selections, and write it to stdout.

The bad news is that I went through hell doing this install, but I won't bore the list with everything that went wrong. Murphy's Law rules.
The good news is that I solved most of the problems eithe
