I want to install some GNU/Linux distribution on a new IBM Thinkpad T40.
So far I've heard (runors) that one of the following distributions should be
best for me:
Debian
Mandrake
RedHat
Suse
Debian will probably not be an option unless I find someone to hol

variants. It's only available for purchase, or a some what technical
online install from SuSE's site.

Recently I got some disk errors:

Setting the LC_CTYPE to he_IL causes the menus in open office to appear
rtl (actually just about most of the program), although the menus are
still in English.
