My uneducated opinion is that it's a bad sign, and that you should think of replacing your hard drive, or at least make regular backups.. I had such errors a long time ago, and I think that crashes I had at the time were caused by it. (I think the kernel doesn't (want to) guarantee stability once the hardware fails at such a level. can anyone correct me please if I'm wrong?). eventually (months later, maybe) my HD stopped working and I replaced it. BTW, I see similar errors on my cdrom sometimes, but I guess those are errors of a particular cdrom, and not of the drive, so I don't worry about them.
