BTW: The very same configuration booted with PXE in legacy mode works
perfectly. It starts fine and the whole installation runs through until the
system is installed completely. Of course, it installed a legacy system, not
UEFI, then.

Worked without any issue and on server side no refused nor any other error.
So it does not seem to be a problem with the tftp server, right?

Are dracut-live and dracut-squash part of the newer FAI release? I can't
find them in the Debian standard repos.

With the fai-project.org repos added on the install server followed by an
update of fai to 5.9.4
"fai-setup -v -f" went fine and completed without errors!

Updating to FAI 5.9.4 fixed this for me.

Hello Pasquale,
if your compute nodes are identical and all of them need the Nvidia driver, you
can use a basefile that already has Nouveau removed and Nvidia installed. Then
there is no need for a Nvidia installation script at all.
Just as an unconventional idea…
