To offer another hint about capabilities of the CAM's :
Aston is known to have two types of CAM's, one is standard consumer
CAM and another one is so called professional CAM - this one is able
decrypt full transport stream. It is intended just for content providers
and can be obtained directly fro

I can only confirm that in version 2.4 there is no problem whatsoever,
I am running machines with 6 cards installed since I have that many PCI
slots available and all is fine and stable. Another issue though is how
much stream juice one can squeeze out of the cards at the same time...

There is absolutely no way for CAM or anything else to get the NDS
system
on anything else than their proprietary boxes. NDS is used in UK by Sky
(same Murdoch guys) and nobody ever has been able to something about
this.

Due to unavailability of budget Technotrend I am thinking about

Not entirely so, one should be preparing equipment since more channels
should be coming later this year. Astra HD Promo is

There is definitely a problem with signal quality. I think it is
maybe even not the most pronounced in cable or terrestrial but in
satellite because bitrates can be much lower.
On low bit rate transponders with Windows software budget cards
work absolutely perfectly. With linux software there is
