Windows installation parse errors

2002-07-11 Thread Minh A. Hoang
Hellow, I am trying to reinstall lilypond on WinNT machine, but at the very begining of the installation process, I got a parse error message: e.g. (null) line 339: parse error, unexpected STRING, expecting $ or: (null) line 339: unrecognized line in setup.ini headers (do you have the latest setup

Line breaking and fingering

Hellow, I am using lilypond 1.5.71 on windows machine. I would like to ask for your experiences concerning manual line breaking and fingering placement, 1. How can I break to a new line just before a grace note? (See the example below in the upper voice. If I quote the grace note away, everything

lily 1.6.0 small bugs

2002-08-27 Thread Minh A. Hoang
Hellow, I have found two minor bugs related to manual line break: 1. can't start a staff with a grace note. e.g c4 c \break \grace d4 c2 2. new time signature in new line leaves an extra copy of time signature at the end of the previous line. e.g \time 2/4 c'2 \break \time 3/4 c'2. __

acute' accent!

2002-09-19 Thread Minh A. Hoang
Hi there! I am sorry for disturbing you with this minor question. It's just a small font problem in the header, for some cases, I can't get the acute accent as desired. (lilypond 1.6.0 on WinNT or Win2k) e.g. \header { filename = "dukichsongthao.ly" title = "Du k\'{i}ch s\^{o}ng Thao " } Than

Hi David, Thank you very much for your reply. Actually, I also guessed that it was LaTeX problem and I tried the same text in a standard tex document. Everything works fine in this case. Coming back to .ly file, we get the same problem even with any character rather than "i", e.g. title = "Du kich

Manual placement of fingering indication (and/or text-markup).

Is there anybody knows how to manually place the fingering indications? In some cases, especially for arpeggios, I would prefer to put the indications just next to the corresponding note-heads, rightwards probably, to make it clearer. I took a look at script-horizontal.ly but it's not really the c

2002-10-14 Thread Minh A. Hoang
Hellow, I would like to change the shape of some noteheads, say to diamond shape, so I tried to use ancient notations for those cases. But it turns out to be difficult if I want to change only one note in a chord and keep remainders as normal. Is there anyone know how to do that? Many thanks in ad

Dear Mats, Thank you very much for the suggestion. There is still a small problem that I couldn't figure out how to cope with. The harmonic notes show up perfectly with stem up (\stemUp), but draw a right-shifted stem when set \stemDown, that makes the stem and normal notes overlap. It must be the
