The thing is that LilyPond uses the file lookup mechanism used in teTeX (the so-called kpathsea library) to be certain to find the same files as the TeX related programs. If the distribution you mention uses the same library, then it might be fairly easy, otherwise it can get really messy. However,

I've CC'd this to the fink package maintainer. I think you have two choices right now: 1) downgrade to tetex 2.whatever. I'm sure the fink docs (FAQ, manual, etc) tell you how to do this kind of thing. 2) wait until there's a new lilypond package and/or lilypond-devel package. IIRC, "can't
