If you want also you can use zynadsubfx or Qsynth to alter your midi
sounds. The first is a really interesting synthesizer that you make
lots of endless tweaks to. The second enables the use of soundfonts
and allows for some processing as the sound as generated such as
reverb etc. Both

go into the config file every time I wanted to open a
Thanks Brett,
I just want a good music notation, with the midi sound as feedback if
my notation was correct.
With your info I decided to use a different note for the mute version.
That is the only practical thing to do.
Thanks very much to make it clear to me.

Does anyone have experience with various soundfonts? I think Lilypond'smidi
is only suitable for GM soundfonts. I just purchased Orchestral Collection
Bundle from Digital SOund Factory, and found it is divided into separated
sections. Is anyone familiar with this kind of sound

When I compile a score on my computer at work, the ps file is about six
times the size of the resulting pdf - the difference apparently being
embedded sound fonts. When I compile the same on my compute at home, the
ps file is ten times bigger again, also apparently due to sound fonts. I

Hope this helps a little.
