I absolutely love working with Frescobaldi - it's an outstanding program. Completely speeds up your LilyPond entry in my opinion, it's the best editor out there. Snippets, shortcuts, and a great GUI make it a top choice in my book! Let me know if you have any questions w/ Fresco and I'd be happy

I downloaded jEdit, and that seems to work fine for UTF-8.  From what I gathered, jEdit says that the Word files were saved in UTF-8Y, which puts a Byte Order Mark at the beginning of the file.  I'm guessing that's why they didn't work with Lilypond.    -- ___
