Even better, run Linux in Virtualbox on the Mac. That's what I have always
done.

Simply use Linux.
Linux has some (minor) issues as well, but you get that (minor) issues
without cost.

Hi Travis,
I have used Frescobaldi for very complex score work on the Mac for years
and the output is razor sharp in the PDF output view.
Your experience would therefore tend to indicate there is something wrong
with the setup of your Mac.
Can you tell us the exact OS release and Mac model?

Hi Tim,
Au contraire, Preview is a remarkably sophisticated program. It can follow
links - hover over a note and the link appears as a tooltip - but it
appears to be broken currently, as does Adobe Acrobat Pro. Some Mac OS X
issue or security setting.

What other PDF readers for Mac are out there? How about the Linux

Hi Hraban,
Well, I've checked it out and I'm kind of partial to the default editor
primarily because it uses a much nicer looking vector output. To my eye,
Frescobaldi's output view is rasterized at low resolution. I do all my
input as text anyway, and don't u

Any reason not to try Frescobaldi? Expect a boost in productivity. Only MIDI
playback is a problem...
The included editor makes no sense.
Hi Travis,
Using Adobe Acrobat Pro from the Creative Cloud Suite, it will follow the
links but puts up a Security Warning which you have to acknowledge and
allow for every note. Unusable.

Hi Travis,
Dusted off my mac to help out. At 10.13.2, I see the same issue. Puzzling.
So, not just you.

Hi Andrew and Karlin -
I'm using the default editor which is included in the MacOS build of
lilypond. I'm not using Frescobaldi.
And yes, I've checked that I'm using preview mode. The links are there. I
can see them when I mouse over, and they work in Acrobat. I've looked
through all the options
Hi Travis,
Pardon me if stating the obvious, but have you checked you are engraving
for preview (not Mac Preview as such) which includes the links rather than
for publication which does not?

Just curious, what editor are you using? Is this Frescobaldi, or something else?
