It's a common problem to have to fiddle with the vertical position of different annotations in the music. I agree with you that it would be great if LilyPond could handle more of these situations automatically. In general, the property 'padding' is you best friend in these situations. Ferenc Wagner

Hello, I could probably overcome these clashes but thought to point them out in case you do not know about them. Why do not these objects know about each other? 1. sopMusic = \notes { \tempo 4 = 96 cis''8^\mf ... } results in <> 2. later, \break \mark "A" cis''4. results in <>where the score
