Hello,
Having used Lilypond.app on OS X, I would like to use lilypond-book
now. I first tried to use the version within Lilypond.app and then
also installed Fink. Whatever I do, I seem to get the following

I am trying to download Lilypond for windows at work (where I have DSL),
then save the 66mb download to cd as directory cygwin, then write cygwin to

installation is complete, but when I run the test, no output is produced.
I have tried to install Lilypond on my Windows 2000 laptop. Each time I
run setup
I get the error,

You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.
Where would I find the error log? I probably

First, this question should really be on the lilypond-user list (and I'm

Hello,
I just ran through the installation of Cygwin/Lilypond. I downloaded the test.ly
file, but it does not appear to have any association with Lilypond. The PC
doesn't know what to open it with. I'm running Win2k. I do have the Cygwin icon

I gave up on installing the stable version when the two files that
Laura so kindly sent me did not satisfy the installer and it stopped
for lack of another file: pdftex.cfg.
Installing tetex 2.0 from unstable also failed for lack of updmap.cfg,
but, in /etc/texmf/updmap.d:
# cp 00updmap.cfg ../up
you need to have latex installed. run cygwin-setup and select the latex
packages...

simon.
