about an error in the dependacy of tetex-bin..and since i use potato, that
was exactly where the error was happening.
i just downloaded the source-code and i'll instal it manually some time when

Hey Mats
i managed to get rid of the apt-get problem, but i think it's an error in the
packages..it says that lilypond 1.4 needs: tetex-bin, which needs tetex-lib,
and libkpathsea3.
I have installed the tetex packages, and when i try to intall the
libkpathsea3 package it says that the package

Hey Mats,
thanks for all the info, yeah i tried all those, but it still comes down to
the problem that when i try to install ksepathsea3 it conflicts with
tetex-bin and lib and when i try to install those it conflicts with
ksepathsea3 so i think i'll just wait untill i get my new distro (Libra

To find out which package provides a certain file, goto
http://www.debian.org/, click on "Debian packages" and
use the "Search the contents of packages" feature.
It will tell you that the /usr/bin/kpsewhich file is
included in the package 'tetex-bin'.
I'm afraid you have initiated an update t

That's more or less where this thread started. The problem with
installing a package from unstable is that it relies on a newer
versions of libc and some other packages, which me

Hey,
thanks for the info,
I downloaded the .deb and when i wanted to install it i got this:
Preparing to replace lilypond 1.4.12-1 (using
lilypond_1.4.2-0potato1_i386.deb) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/preinst: /usr/bin/kpsewhich: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing lilypond_1.4.2-0potato
This is unfortunately one of the major disadvantages of
Debian; if you want to update to a newer version of a
single package, you often have to upgrade a most of the
system. If you read the installation instructions for
Lilypond, you'll find a link to
http://people.debian.org/~foka/lilypond/
