I'm excited about the new feature that would let me use any TrueType
font. I'll have to wait until a stable release comes out for cygwin, I
suppose, but it seems interesting.
Although it might be an aesthetic mismatch and not exactly elegant, it
seems like a good way to get graphical symbols from

As it appears the developers/users are not sympathetic to my cause, I
will simply drop my request.

With conventions that differ widely; hence lilypond enforcing one
system I see as inelegant.

Well, I suppose you guys are busy. I don't know if you made any decisions.
I'm only a poor student, but I will pay up to $50 (in pieces) if I get

Well, look at the Finale Jazzcord font set I linked to. Is it possible
to get all those symbols as easily as any

(For starters, wouldn't you have to specify another font, since chords
and lyrics fonts are different?)
Well, I guess the point I was trying to make was that t

No contradiction.
I wasn't suggesting that there's only ONE way to do it, I was saying
that since there ISN'T only one

While I can wait for the jazz articulations, I do feel strongly enough
about this to actually pay money for a chord system

Lilypond makes many assumptions about musical symbols, and notation in
general, that are very rigidly tied to classical conceptions of music.
A music notation program should be flexible about this sort of thing,
since most people using it will probably be typesetting contemporary
forms of music rat

Well, that's certainly something I can help with :)
How much would be "enough'? (in US dollars)

In lilypond, is there the ability to get symbols that are common in
jazz notation such as drops, falls, doits, bends, squeezes, turns, and
shakes?
For examples:

In the articulations section of the lily manual I only see classical
