Does this 'and' construct make sense?

I find %% switch on debugging. #(if (and #t (defined? 'set-debug-cell-accesses!)) (set-debug-cell-accesses! 5000)) (found in init.ly) strange. Wouldn't it be better ot simply remove the 'and' construct? #t evaluates to #t always, isn't it? Or is this one more Scheme subtlety I don't get? Be

Hi LilyPonders, Please consider the attached file. When I add the chord names the pdf becomes much heavier (100 to 160 ko). For only 4 characters (C, F and C7) this seems to me quite a lot. Can someone explain me the reason of this heavy output? Is there another way to minimized the pdf size? TIA
