Hi, David:
How do I add tempo markup to indicate swing eighths? e.g.
Step 1. Go to the list archives.
Step 2. Type "swing" into the search bar, and choose to display in
"reverse chronological order".
Step 3. Read the first post.
=)
Best regards,
Kieren.

"NORM has ascenders, but "norm" doesn't.
Therefore, you need to add an invisible ascender letter (e.g.,
capital) to force it to have the same vertical extent as the other one.

Hi,
Anyone have something handy to make the markup in this example
*bottom-align* (instead of top-aligning)?

\new Staff {
\time 2/4
\override TextScript #'staff-padding = #4
c'4_\markup "NORM"
c'4_\markup "norm"
}
%%% END TO

Is there a way to change the staff symbol color, but just for one or a few
selected measures?
I tried embedding the following into the beginning of the measure I'd like
to change, it compiles, but the color does not change:
c d e f

\override Staff.StaffSymbol #'color = #red
a b c d

Does anyone know of a neat way to tie a sharp to a flat when the two are
actually the same note? As the a-flat and g-sharp in this example:
\version "2.8.1"
\new Staff { \time 4/4 \clef treble
\relative { 2 ~ }
}
The best I have managed is this:
\version "2.8.1"
\new Staff { \time 4/4 \clef t
Hello,
I am making a score of Renaissance polyphony, which features a few longa
notes.
The length of their stem is shorter than that of other notes.
How could I make them longer?
The stem direction is not always what I want, but do not respond to the
\stemUp or \stemDown commands.
Is there a
