Using LilyPond 2.6.1, does anyone else notice an oddity with:
\time 3/4
Using gs the "3" seems to be displayed correctly, over the "4," in both
the .pdf and .ps versions of the document. In xpdf the .pdf looks fine,
but in gpdf and the evince document viewer the "3" is either invisible

Yes there is, hopefully the kinks will be worked out but there are work arounds in the meantime. Although I find the processing to be slow so that bar by bar entry takes up too much time. Haven't been able to get the linux version of lilypond working (some libc++ library is missing... and I'm
One of the things I thought was particularly interesting about Lilypond

Apparently there's a still a strong relationship to Bash here. This
thing certainly isn't Windows friendly.

Hi!
I had installed 2.4.2 some time ago; it was very hard for me (and for
you, as you had to help me through the list :-)).
Now, I downloaded the .package file of 2.6.1. Everything went fine,
but when I want to run lilypond, I get the following message:

Dear Martin --
I took another look at your error message. I think that if you scroll
further up in your error messages, you'll find that there was a
non-fatal error in processing a .ly file; this causes problems for
texi2dvi later. Also, have you explicitly disabled the "doc" USE flag
for this?

Note that the TeX backend is more or less unsupported, so don't be
surprised if it doesn't work anymore. If you have a very good reason
to use it, please tell the mailing list.

This is very common in the kind of music I use Lilypond for.

Yes I had the same problems with native lilypond but there are some work arounds.

2. Remove the autopackage and build lilypond from source; it's not too
painful unless you need to build the documentation as well. There's an

I don't see any place to where the postscript back-end is set.
