The macro definition contains text in English that is visible in the
output, namely "Bugfixes", so I first thought it should be put in
macros.itexi, but news items are translated in very few (or no)
languages, so

On 12/23/09 I downloaded version 2.12.3 and calculated the sha1sum to be;
3ba2f8062f38441c99d53a71a8345afd0f2d0201
Today I downloaded this same version and the sha1sum calculates to be;
f36072d5f57b2a3d3877e82879be375d548aa951
Was there an undocumented change to this file since last December?

Boris,
The patch you submitted seems to me as a hack making the \score markup
command behaving differently from other markup commands,

Is there an option for configure that will eliminate -DNDEBUG from the
various variables defined in config.make?
--enable-debugging does not do it on my system. I needed to manually
eliminate -DNDEBUG from my copy of config.make in order to compile things
without NDEBUG being defined.
Thanks,

Does everyone use a passphrase for SSH? The ssh-keygen
program allows for no passphrase, so I'm wondering if anyone
decides not to use one. How bad would it be to push and

When I first set up, I used no passphrase.

I never use a passphrase, although I keep my $HOME in an encrypted
partition (mounted via loopback) which I never leave unlocked when I'm
