On 12/23/09 I downloaded version 2.12.3 and calculated the sha1sum to be; 3ba2f8062f38441c99d53a71a8345afd0f2d0201 Today I downloaded this same version and the sha1sum calculates to be; f36072d5f57b2a3d3877e82879be375d548aa951 Was there an undocumented change to this file since last December?

eliminating -DNDEBUG from compilation

Is there an option for configure that will eliminate -DNDEBUG from the various variables defined in config.make? --enable-debugging does not do it on my system. I needed to manually eliminate -DNDEBUG from my copy of config.make in order to compile things without NDEBUG being defined. Thanks, C
