Q: Is there a `smart' multi-voice accidental mode?

2002-12-21 Thread David Petrou
I need to typeset music with multiple voices per staff. Think 4-part counterpoint (chorales, fugues, etc.) I'd like the following accidental behavior: - Lily should consider voices on the same staff separate when adding accidentals (or naturals). That is, if one needs an accidental on a par

Q: metafont not being called unless i run xdvi

Q: \Rest in addition to \rest?

2002-12-20 Thread David Petrou
hi. i need to place rests in particular vertical locations to avoid collisions. something like a4\rest works great for non-whole measure rests. but i'd like an equivalent for a whole measure rest that is centered within a measure. also, just a comment on a previous post: someone mentioned that

extremes of music notation

hi everyone. i'm forwarding along some info i read on another mailing list that i thought would be of interest to lily developers and users: An article by Don Byrd at http://php.indiana.edu/~donbyrd/CMNExtremes.htm has many examples of extremes in common practice music notation. e.g.: * Highes
