Using LFS 7.3 I've gotten as far as section 6.7 where I'm setting up the

No, I had not tried that, level 1 didn't give me any better other than tell
me what command it was executing. Level 2

Got my LFS 6.4 install finished, rebooted, and pinging into the Internet :)
I did have a complication that I thought I would note for others.
I used the LiveCD 6.3, where my IDE (PATA) hard drive shows up as
/dev/hda. However, in the kernel used for LFS 6.4, this becomes mapped
as /dev/sda. So, t
I have a fresh LFS 6.4 installation, all I've done is add 1 user. Is
there a preferred way to back it up (and restore)?
Would it be sufficient to just use the liveCD, mount my paritition,
and 'cp -ar', or do I need to do something more arcane like 'dd'?
Thanks

After completing my lfs build, I'm seeing some block characters in
some man pages.
For example, for 'man udev', towards the bottom of the first page, I
see a # sign between 2 block characters (squares). I presume these
should be quotes.
I set LANG to en_US.iso88591 in step 7.9. I've since tried s

Ken,
Thank you for your advice, I'll make sure my future postings of this
nature got to lfs-dev. I'm sorry I wasn't more specific, but I was
using the pure64 book, hence my confusion about having somehow linked
