I'm an old LFS user who originally worked with LFS 6.1, and more
recently 6.8. To build these two systems automatically I used jhalfs.
I'd like to upgrade to LFS 7.3, but I can't get jhalfs 2.3.2 (the latest

Using LFS 7.3 I've gotten as far as section 6.7 where I'm setting up the
kernel API's for Glibc. I'm getting the following error:
root:/sources/linux-3.8.1# make headers_check
CHK include/generated/uapi/linux/version.h
HOSTCC scripts/basic/fixdep
/bin/sh: scripts/basic/fixdep: Permissio

No, I had not tried that, level 1 didn't give me any better other than tell
me what command it was executing. Level 2
gave the extra note "due to a missing

Hi, lfs 7.3
uname -i and uname -p both return "unknown" which is causing some issues
on software I'm trying to build.
On other distributions - that return x86_64
uname -m however does return x86_64
What went wrong in my build of coreutils?
