Strip debugging symbols on everything
Consider using --strip-all on executables
Delete man and info pages
Delete unpacked sources
Delete source tarballs
Delete all software non-essent

process, if exists, to cut more possible time to build a simple and
portable distro from lfs?

i cann't install LFS 6.0 on my system (Suse 9.2, Athlon 3000+ 64 Bit)
SuSE:
triplet: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
dynamic linker: /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2
Section 5.4 und 5.5 (binutils und gcc ) install successfull.
Section 5.6 (Linux-Libc-Header-2.6.8.1)

should just be a matter of replacing grub by mac-fdisk, hfsutils,

I've just about completed Gnome and have a question pertaining to image
files. When I click on an image file, how can I get it to display
directly in Nautilus? I can use EOG or GIMP to view them but when I just

Ive just new LFS 6.0 system. I followed the book and everything went
find until it came time to reboot. The boot process when normally, and
all seemed ok. However, when prompted to login in, I did so, and nothing
happens (I get no bash prompt). If I hit Ctrl-C, it logs me out and I
can attempt to l
