If I restart gpm after starting links then cut and paste from links works. This is with links-1.00pre12 . The downside is that I can no longer follow links by clicking on them; I have to use the keyboard (up/down-arrow, Enter). Ya pays ya money and ya takes ya choice.
Restarting gpm? Unnecessary. Especially since this causes you to lose some functionality. In order to highlight text in links so you can copy, all you need is to hold down the shift key while you drag over text.
