I understand there's no way to make a hard disk install on the
LiveCD, but what about storing config files (like xorg.conf) on a
floppy or USB stick?

the partition where lfs resides is hdc2.
Shouldn't hdc be hd1 in grub? so, your hdc2, would be (hd1,1), and not
(hd0,1)

erything in 64bit mode, use x86_64. For the sake of backwards

I get
out of the chrooted filesystem, I can type both upper and lowercase R's.
I checked all the other keys on the keyboard and they all work fine inside
the chrooted filesystem, including the all punctuation marks.
Any advise?
