Module-Init-Tools testsuite?

Is it just me or does "make check" for Module-Init-Tools just compile some stuff then quit without running any tests? There is a "runtests" script in the "tests" dir that does the testsuite, but apparently this is not run by "make check" anymore, although the CODING file in the source dir says
