Henry,
Use a T1 cross over cable (Figure 3 in the lin below) bewteen the two CSU
units. Make sure that the line build-out settings on the CSUs account for
the appropriate distance.

Make sure both CSU's use internal clocking.

You should not use CAT5/6 for building to building wiring for both distance
and safety reasons. If you use outside plant rated STP cable for T1s,
sometime called siamese cable, which has the transmit and recieve bundles
separately shield along with a ground wire, you'll can get about 500 feet i

Not appreciably except POSSIBLY in VERY a rural environment. You should get
the same overall volume at 18K, 25K, or 50K feet from the CO. The phone
company usually deploys SLCs that MUX into T1 lin

I 100% guarantee that this will not work no matter what kind of satellite
connection he has for a couple of reasons.
1) We are using these phones right now and they are VERY sensitive to
latency. We even have trouble over some rural cable modem connections for
some of our employees that
