Hi Ross! I 100% guarantee that this will not work no matter what kind of satellite connection he has for a couple of reasons.
1) We are using these phones right now and they are VERY sensitive to latency. We even have trouble over some rural cable modem connections for some of our employees that live in the sticks. That's with latencies of 90-100ms. The MINIMUM satellite latency you will ever get is 200ms and that's with a low flying geosat "downlink" and some other kind of uplink like dialup (which would cause bandwidth problems). Most likely best case is 400-500ms. This is a speed of light issue, not anything else, there is no way to "fix" it. The radio waves just take a certain time to get up to the satellite and back to earth. Just the way it is. 2) Even if the phone would magically sync up, you'd still get something akin to a CB radio connection. If you have ever called Alaska before AT&T ran the fiber line or from shore to a military boat, you'll know what I mean. Sorry, but I hope this helps! -Vin ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ross Lindahl" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "KXT Mailing list" <kxt@kxthelp.com> Sent: Monday, April 17, 2006 6:06 PM Subject: KX-T: IP Phones >I have a client that is interested in connecting one phone from his > office which has a tda200 v2.0 to his home.
