No difference to my knowledge. The Canadian units are made in Malasyia or
Japan while the US ones are made in England.
We purchase the KX-70xx black phones from the US for re-sale in Canada -
work great.

The shift light only lights if you have "new" caller id info waiting to be
reviewed. You said it works on another extension so it will not work on
your extension also. If you are not the lowest ringing port number with
unanswered caller id info'ed calls then it will not light...Jim

Thanks for the info, Charles. Since I've just gotten the unit, I'll wait a
bit on the upgrade (since it's so expensive). It's a shame that the BIOS
files aren't available for downloading for upgrades. So many manufacturers
of computer-related items allow that these days, and a lot of us tech-sav
If all else fails try a terminator accrost the line that is a 600 Ohm

PS you can make a NP 5 uf cap by connecting 2 10uf 100 volt caps in
series + to + or - to - to ma

I have been using kxt7433s that are "Made in Malaysia" with no problems. The
importer I get them from beats my negotiated price @ Graybar by $40 each.
They still have 7433s but Graybar only has 7453s now...Jim

If they are that close, Why do it he "hard" way? Just relocate a KSU and for
$30 or so extend the station & CO cables & then its trouble free!...Jim
