actually, they like 8c, but really only need 2pairs (partner, legend) or
sometimes 3pairs (old merlin). I think the definity and merlin magic are
only 1 pair.

Paul, We still install only 6c jacks for phones and fax, even though the cable behind
it is Cat 5.
We have gotten into arguments with so many IT experts that insist we use 8c jacks
everywhere. The 6c plug will deform
pin 1 and 8 of most 8c jacks. When they later decide to use that jack for
