Paul, We still install only 6c jacks for phones and fax, even though the cable behind it is Cat 5.
We have gotten into arguments with so many IT experts that insist we use 8c jacks everywhere. The 6c plug will deform pin 1 and 8 of most 8c jacks. When they later decide to use that jack for data, it either doesn't work or is flaky. If they need the data connection, we pop the jack and pop in an 8c. Of course, if it's an ATT/Lucent/Avaya/(put new name here) phone system, yer in heaven, they need 8c. Randy, A few years ago that was added to our bid list. "Does customer move people often?" I agree on the 66Ms, so much easier and reliable. But I don't want our techs living there doing simple weekly moves. The last thing I want to see is the customer's "Reserved for Copier Repair Tech" or "Reserved for SBC" signs replaced with our name! -larry _________________________________________________________________ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
