Sounds like they SLC'ed the line. Made two lines out of 1 pair of copper.
Call the PSC and complain. They will give you the copper and SLC the
neighbors...Look for a converter box for that line...I have experienced this
problem when
the local telco runs out of copper. AML box???

Insufficient ringing voltage or current is a common problem with 'derived' POTS
lines (from fiber, VoIP, cable, etc.). However, it
is usually only a problem for those of us who collect and use antiques... any
modern equipment like the Pana KSUs should ring-up on
