Can confirm this is the same for me, using Kubuntu 9.04 64-bit. Upgraded
to KDE 4.3 beta2 using backports, now Digikam doesn't show the images in
the main pane. They're definately in the Digikam database and they show
up when trying batch alterations. Tried re-building database but didn't
work.

kubuntu has to alter the functionality of the default konqueror setup at all.

hardy-backports.

I have discovered the cause for this.
You are using a proxy with an autoconfiguration URL (PAC script) which
has got a syntax error in it (as far as WebKit is concerned)
When you run the add account it calls signon-ui and it segfaults because
of this.
If you use konqueror you may also experience
ok scratch the part about the syntax error as I have fixed my PAC file.
which leaves...
you can encounter this problem if you have a proxy server configured.

I've switched to filtering after the messages come in by clicking
'Folder - Apply All filters on Folder' on the Inbox.
