I will ad this about aileron weight, except it applies to the elevator
weight. Burt Rutan years ago issued the closest thing to an AD for the
Varieze and Longeze about making the canard elevators to the correct weight,
due to two aircraft experiencing flutter and the elevator disintegrating in
flig
Hi all. I had a great trip to the Gathering this year. You read that I
was stuck in Trenton, MO when I made a no-go decision after looking at
the weather heading up to Red Oak. I have been portrayed as a
conservative pilot and that is a title I like. I enjoyed my time in
lovely Trenton and the airp
cracking . But after hearing your story , will be checking
them regularly for any evidence of cracking.

My aileron counterbalance brackets are also Aluminun ( as I'm sure most
KR's
are) . I made my own bracke
This is small deviation from the plans. Other than that, it is very much
per plans, even though I tried to take a short cut that did not work.
There are a few more pictures than you get in the plans and it serves as our
documentation of our construction.
