I'm posting this link again of Randy Hebron's KR-1 taildragger with
spoilers and full-span flaps. This article is from 1980. Early days. A
lot of what is under discussion re KR mods were done early on.

I worry about the loss of continuity in the upper skin to make space for
the

I'm considerably behind the curve when it comes to reading posts to this list,
but I did notice some discussion on spoilers. The obvious first choice is to
go with conventional sailplane-style spoilers that are essentially hinged flaps
that deploy upwards off the upper surface of the wing, but
Here's a Jack Cox article on Randy Hebron's KR-1 taildragger with full
span flaps and spoilers. If the link is broken just take the space out.

Hi Netters,
The holiday in Portugal is over, I am trying to catch up on the KRnet
postings. The 25 March/06 asks if any one was using spoilers. Yes I am. I
built them into the main wings at the start of the building of the center
wing. I got a report from gentleman in England that did this too.
Has anyone used spoilers on the KR?
It surprises me that with all the "improvements" folks have tried over the
years, I've never seen any mention of spoilers on the wings. It shouldn't be
any harder than building a belly-board, but is going to take up some space in
the wing and add some weigh
Dan,
I'm not suggesting you rip into YOUR wings at this point, just thinking out
loud.
Getter flyin', that things too pretty to be sitting around gathering dust...

Not to put the project down, but I would think long and hard about using
spoilers for roll control in a KR. I have known of several aircraft that have
employed them, and they had some unusual spin recovery techinques to say the
least. Several pilots I know have flown twins with them, one speci
