units, Garmin included, and have a total of four GPS units in my Warrior

I can say hands-down, the iFly 700 wins the prize. I've been so
enamored with this unit that I actually removed the Garmin and re-w

I also bought one. I have a limited flight range I use it in but have
found it to be very handy for VFR use and easier to read the larger
screen than my hand held/dash top GPS car units. The sectional
background makes for a familiar and useful. My next worry with it will

Mark, -- I bought one of these units. I was surprise by the simplicity and
ease of working this unit. This unit has been pretty accurate. The
display formats are something we all have learned to work with in our
aviation education. I had the chance to fly recently with a friend that was

If you just want GPS and other informaiton then this unit is fine, though it
won't replace your other insturments or give you IFR. Many of these less
expensive units do not come with an artifical horizon or replace any of the
6 pack. They simplly allow you better navigation and will do what you are
How about some feedback from those of you out there who have use these, or
are currently using these?
I have only basic VFR instruments, Mag Compass, Altimeter, Airspeed
indicator, in my airplane, so any navigation source has to be a step up.

For those of you seriously wanting to buy an iFly 700 GPS. There is one on eBay

I'm interested in getting a unit. I tried to email you off net but for some
does this unit have a gray code port to run to other instruments such as the

part is a choice but not having an out put limits future use, I was very
disappointed when I found out that the ATC that I bought a couple ye

KR-netters,
Vertical Avionics got one of iFly's demo units to show my EAA chapter. As
James wrote, they are excellent units, with touch screens. Very intuitive
Paul, I've used the iFly 700 since Lowrance had problems with their updates. I
love it and wouldn't consider any thing else. I use it for both VFR & IFR
however I must admit that I'm an old steam gauge pilot and don't have a glass
panel. Merry Christmas to you and all the KRNet.
