My experience is DO not lube the nose wheel nylon washer. ( makes the shimmy much worse). I found since I removed the spring, so the caster wheel will rotate 180 d so I can push it backwards to park, It needs that nut to be very tight, in fact it seems too tight by hand, but it needs to be. 73

Craig. You need to tighten the caster nut on the nose wheel. You should feel resistance when you lift the nose and swivel the nose gear. There is no specified torque that I know of on that nut. I have all the Diehl drawings and instructions. Mark Jones Oldsmar, Fl N771MJ “WunderBird” www.fl

KR> castering nosewheel question

2019-04-14 Thread Craig Williams via KRnet
Had a bad shimmy in my nosewheel when I installed the fairing last week. So I pulled it off and installed new wheel bearings and tire. My question is does the nylon washer need lubrication and what torque is needed on the spindle nut? Thanks Craig www.youtube.com/chwilliams5
