I am finishing rebuilding my aileron bellcranks and pulleys brackets, and
I am really battling with zinc chromate primer. It sprays to a very
powdery finish, and if I put a thick coat, it peels off. I did my best to
degrease the parts nicely, but apparently, this is not enough. Is there

Zinc Chromate primer does not dry very hard, at least
not REAL zinc chromate primer. The beauty of it is
this: it tends to "migrate" toward unfinished area of
the metal.
A thin coat, in my opinion, is all you need.
