KR> Substitute small auxiliary 500 watt generator for engine generator?

Just hook up a lighter plug and a solar panel in the window and be done with it. That's what I did and it worked for 2 1/2 years. Sent from my iPhone > On Mar 14, 2014, at 9:50 AM, Dave_A wrote: > > 1) Those little gennies are usually 2-stroke and run on oilgas mix. > > 2) There's no way to

What you're really proposing is an APU. A poor APU at that. What's your goal here? Those little generators aren't all that light. And the associated systems will weight quite a bit as well. (Extended exhaust, fuel, pull start cord, fairleads, other control extentions) How much drag do you thi

1) Those little gennies are usually 2-stroke and run on oilgas mix. 2) There's no way to properly seal it off so that no carbon monoxide/exhaust leaks back into the cabin... IF there is an opening for the pull cord their is an opening for the exhaust On 3/14/2014 3:10 AM, James Dunn wrote:

What do you think? For the KR, it seems that removing the alternator and related pulley from my VW Type 4 has the potential of decreasing the side loading on the engine, and decreasing parasitic loads on the engine so that more power goes to the propeller. A small rip-cord 500 watt generator w
