I believe that I read somewhere that Gal is actually better, but we used SS,
I guess because it looks better.

Phil,
In this case itÂs toss up, however on the Fly Baby Bowers recommended
Galvanized for the wing wires, as the Stainless stretches more.

I'll tell you what I was told over on the Pietenpol list about cable. For
cable running over pulleys (control cable), don't use stainless. It's not
as flexible as galvanized. Also, galvanized tends to fail one strand at a
time and is easier to inspect for failures for that reason. I believe

Exactly. I used stainless on my rudder cables since they don't make any
real turns, and they are expose
Check the strength differences between the two. Galvanized is stronger by
far and worth the extra inspection safety wise as far as I personally
believe. I was going to go the same way until I looked at the breaking
strength cable size foe size. Need 3/16 inch stainless to equal 1/8 inch
galvanized
