The wood prop already has a bored centre hole 2¼" and the whole thing that fits quite well over the 5" extension with 6 bolts. The hole is counter sunk about 3" deep, All the washer does is make this hole 2-7/8" in other words the prop now remains about 1/8" from the cowling. You can make a p

I am honestly more confused as to what you did. The washer makes the hole go from 2 1/4" to 2 7/8"? It makes it bigger? Pictures? On 2/21/07, Myron (Dan) Freeman wrote: > Like they say "A picture is worth a thousand words". I've got a great > imagination but I can't make heads or tails out of wh

What it sounds like is a very large washer (the size of the hub) 1/8 inch thick. But then When you read it it sounds like hyou filled the end of the hole. How do you make the prop sit flat on the hub? --- wcraw...@cmhc-schl.gc.ca wrote: > The wood prop already has a bored centre hole 2¼" > and t

I notice that most of the netters are not joining in on this one, and I have not, because is sounds like a scary subject. I suggest that you fix the cowling. See N64KR at http://KRBuilder.org - Then click on the pics See you at the 2007 - KR Gathering There is a time for building and a time f

Why not just put a crush plate between the prop and the hub. The prop is built to be pulled against a plate. Or as one pointed out fix the cowling. If you have washers between the prop and hub they are going to start crushing the wood on the prop and the prop will start to get lose. --- Dan Heath

Would it not be better to put the 1/8" washer between the motor mount and the firewall? Ed > > > > > On 2/21/07, Randy Smith wrote: >> What it sounds like is a very large washer (the size >> of the hub) 1/8 inch thick. But then When you read it >> it sounds like hyou filled the end of the hol

If you look closely at that pict I posted, there is a .080 spacer on the front side the prop extension. I see absolutely no problem with adding a spacer like this provided it is true and does not throw you prop tracking off. Jeff On 2/21/07, ed jeffko wrote: > Would it not be better to put the

I have made a bunch of these for spacing both the prop and front bulkhead by drawing the spacer in autocad. I print the spacer drawing out with drill hash marks for the center hole and prop bolts. Cut it out and use spray adhesive to glue it to the metal. I cut the rough shape on a bandsaw leaving
