Hello Net
Today I ventured out of the pattern. I could see up and down, but it was too
hazy to see far. I did manage to cruise a little and discovered that at part
throttle the engine would climb up to 3500 RPM. The manifold pressure did not
seem to advance past 31. I still kept the waste ga

What speed were you getting in cruise?
Sorry to say that I did not look at the speed, only the RPM. I did see 120
once, but I was concerned that when I attempted to speed up, the engine
would go up to 3500, with the potential to go a lot higher. My climb was
between 80 and 90. Tomorrow I will t

Back into the air again today. I did manage to increase the pitch on the prop.
I used a protractor and recorded the old setting and the new. The numbers
don't relate directly to the pitch, but are a reference so that I will know
where I am. Static runup only produced 2800 RPM with
I can hardly wait to hear what your final numbers are!

Did you allow for wind and compensate for density altitude in your airspeed
comparision. 35" of manifold pressure at 2500 feet and 3100rpm should really
have you moving along. Take care you don't get into the high MP/low RPM
engine damaging range.

Hello again
After working all day, I was really to tired to fly and so I decided to go into
the pattern and time some take off runs. First I'll have to admit that
learning to use to boost is going to take some practice. It was easy when all
I had to do was push the mixture and throttle and con
Hello Net
Today was another crosswind day at the airport. It was only 5 Kts. As for the
tailwheel and the crosswind landing, I agree with Colin in that I make wheel
landings when the wind is not down the runway. With the wind down the runway,
it is even fun to land tailwheel first and lower t
