What speed were you getting in cruise? It sounds like you are making good progress, congratulations!

I could see up and down, but it was too hazy to see far. I did manage to cruise a little and discovered that at part throttle the engine would climb up to 3500 RPM. The manifold pressure did not seem to advance past 31. I still kept the waste gate open. I did not go to full throttle. I'm sure the engine would try to go past 4000 RPM. I managed to feel my way back to KPTK, using the tried and true IFR (roads). I tried to use my omni and realized that I am not proficient in the use of my new nav/com. It also appears that my Garmin 90 has died. It located 6 satellites but the signal strength was too low on all of them and I could not use it to navigate. After returning to KPTK, I removed my spinner and increased the pitch on the IVO prop. Weather and airspace permitting, tomorrow I will try the new pitch. Three F18 landed and parked this afternoon and the biz jets were in and out as if we had free jet fuel.
