In fact, if your experimental, amateur built plane is day VFR only, NO
instruments are required by the regs. Did the FSDO include these requirements
in your letter of limitations?

Where in the h*l* did they come up with that mandate There is
nothing in the regs that I've ever seen to mandate 2 ASI's and 3
magnet
