Sid & Jeff; I'm in the middle of test flying my homebuilt- an osprey 2- at an
airport in Ohio. I am very sympathetic to your delays...mine have been similar,
including a new canopy and prop, malfunctioning airspeed...etc. I have found
that just because an aircraft has passed inspection and looks as good as it
ever will, it still isn't flyable until you can rely on it not scaring you
every flight. That said, there is a terrible dynamic surrounding that first
flight...the brain says no, the plane can't be reliable, but the friends and
the id say go for it! Keep those two forces in balance until you are certain
you want to fly. That can take a while.
Jeff; Using autogas is the only way I can afford to fly. Doing everything I can
to make the process safe and practical is time well spent. In the days of MTBE
it was easy, today in the farm-lobby ethanol craze, I am struggling.
This is a great homebuilt net. Thankyou for letting me read it everyone. Peter
