Last few engines I have shipped were done with Uship they bid on the
shipment and you are only required to place it on a pallet and tie it down.
Last one I shipped was an 0-300 from Ohio to Nevada and cost me $120 that
was just before Thanksgiving.

Build a plywood box around it -- fastened to the pallet strapped down so

Most carriers will not accept an engine unless it's in a box (plywood) and on a
pallet. When I bought my engine it was shipped from Kansas to Portland Oregon
via FedEx Freight. Engine and box was 320 lbs. I believe it was around $200.00.
