The Facet fuel pump runs all the time that power is applied to it. It runs
quieter when the fuel lines and the float bowl are full.
The needle valve in the carb closes the inlet into the the intake to the engine
when the float bowl reaches it's set level (say full). The pump is still
running,

LOL. That's one way to to tell if it is running (pumping). If there is an
audible "click", it is running. If it is too noisy to hear it, if you can reach
it, feel it. If it is running/clicking it will be vibrating...you can feel it.

What is your thinking re using two?
A 175 seems supply an 1800cc MGB adeqately and one 150 a 1500 MG Midget.
Also, what kind of intake manifold are you using?
Was there an OEM for two?
