Mark, Being new to the group,( only have Plans and have not started), Is
this the only weak point on the gear, or is it possible to beef up the upper
bend also? Is there anything saying that be beefing up the lower end won't
put more stress on the top on grass strip landings? Thanks,

Nick, I am new at this group, but up until selling my project a week ago,
was building a Ragwing Stork. Acceptable method on that aircraft, and FAA
acceptable is to create a angled scarf Joint 15 x the thickness of the
material you are joining. In this case if I remember right, 15x.5/8" =
9.375. Y
