On Ken Rand's original KR-2 He had minus 1/2 pound when the tail was up in
the flying position. So your plane should be good.

I my opinion if you raise the tail that much you will not be able to get as
much angle of attack on takeoff and will have to go faster to takeoff.

I screwed the nutplates to the spar. then I put the screws in to keep the
holes opened. I put a little dab of grease on the end of each screw before I
floxed the spar in. The screws came out easy.

The strobes I used came from Wicks. But for the strobes and power unit the

I got caught in a rain shower yesterday with the KR. The rain took the paint
and varnish down to the wood. Is
there something I can put on the leading edge to protect it.
I have 18hrs on 22 to go so I can fly it to the gathering

The empty shop syndrome, I know what you mean. But it is great having
the plane at the airport. What do you have left to do on the wings.
I passed the half way point today. 22hrs done 18 to go.
See you a Mt. Vernon.

In Wisconsin there is a one time fee of $50 to register a homebuilt or an
antique. As for sales tax, I drove to Wicks an pickedup the first shipment.
Thus I paid about $93 sales tax. I sent a copy of the invoice with my
reistration application. I received the registration today.
