Hello San I used a 54/54 prop on my 2100 turbo sucessfuly but had to lower the compression by putting spacers under the cylinders to run it. I suspect you are getting some detonation. You are placing increased load on the engine with the increased prop pitch. If your fuel mixture was perfect for th

Hi Mark. I have no first hand knowledge of a higher higher stall speed with the newer airfoils and just repeted what was stated in one of the recent posts on that subject. I also just checked the info on my KR-2 plans which calls the stall at 42 mph, and 52 mph for the KR-2S. I was never able to c

I've been following the airfoil thread and would like to add one thing. Almost every modification you make to the original design will have an up-stream or down-stream effect. Decisions on which airfoil you plan to use will likely effect the type landing gear you will be happy with. I chose the ret

Hi Gary R/R used a common go-kart mechanical brake. The first problem i found with that brake was chatter. It was caused by out of round and / or off center drums. When i assembled the wheels and drums and ground the drums. on center, the brakes worked much better. The second problem is they are

Hi Garry I am also a new old member, with a Happy accessory case. My flying buddy and I both used geared Suberu starters for many years . I think there was some mods required. I will look over my documentation for the required mods. On Mon, Sep 24, 2018, 3:40 AM Gary Sack via KRnet wrote: > Hi a

That is correct. As I said it only insures the plane while it is on the ground. If you have a serious accident and survive, the plane is a write-off. If you don't survive, you don't have to repair it. As you can see i'm not an insurance advocate. On Fri, Sep 21, 2018 at 2:47 PM Jeff Scott via K

It has been a few years, but I was able to satisfy the airport manager with just hull insurance. It covered the aircraft while on the ground and in the hanger. You might ask about it. It was a LOT cheaper. On Fri, Sep 21, 2018 at 12:00 PM mark jones via KRnet wrote: > Should have said I felt di

Caution! Before you pay for the print; make sure it is accurate in both X axis & Y axis. Printers are seldom accurate. You should accurately measure the airfoil in both axis. By changing the scale at least one axis can be made to be correct. I would draw the airfoil from the airfoil coordinates

Hi Dennis I'm 6' 4" tall and have made several long trip in my KR-2 and never got claustrophobia. I extended the fuselage 2" forward of the main spar and I believe it was 9" aft of the rear spar. There were no handling issues at all. On Sat, Mar 4, 2017 at 4:01 PM, dennis lacy via KRnet wrot
