Hi KR Team,
N44774, a KR-2 retractable tail-dragger originally built by the great
hands of Gary Garvin in New Hampshire took its First and Second Flights on
Jan 17th at the Burnet, Texas Municipal Airport. (the Second flight is
important)...
Gary originally finished it in 1986 but a balky 1835c
Concerning Dual ignition:
I also get 100 rpm more with both ignitions on.
The base for starting my 1835 VW is a 4016 magneto that has very low time
and is very clean inside. After starting I click on the great plains
electronic that is fixed advance. I converted the magneto with a very nice

Hi Pilots,
My 52x44 wooden propeller took a FOD 'lickin' last weekend and lost..
I'll use it on my 1835cc Hapi VW engine powered KR2 N44774.
It needs a 4 in dia. bolt circle diameter for 6 each 5/16" UNF bolts. It
appears that the old bolt holes are a tad bigger than the 5/16" (maybe a
size P
Happy Anniversary, Joe !!

Hello KRnet,
I know a bunch of you have toe brakes on your KRs, and some of you may
have some extra parts around.
I'm looking for a set of rudder pedals with toe brake fittings or
maybe a set of experienced plans for the Hegar hydraulic cylinders to
replace the original brake-less rudder pedals.
Hi Chris,
If possible , Plz send it to me. Any costs I'll be happy to handle.
Cheers,
Rene Ffrench

the research on the internet.
When installing a quarter wave VHF antenna with a sizeable ground
plane, Do I need a balun?
I see all the dipole info (like the VOR antenna) that require one but
I'm not sure if that app
Hello KR Net,
I've runout of ideas on how to get a reference set of plans for my KR2 - N44774.
Built by Gary GArvin in 1986- switched hands 5 times- never flown!!! - new AWC.
Will start Phase 1 testing in about 3 weeks. Has conventional gear.
VW 1835 engine. Single stick. single 14.5 gal tank.
Evening Matt,
I just hauled the KR2 that I bought from Missouri to Austin. The
Uhaul bigger vehicle trailer worked very well. You can't tell them
that it is an airplane. I just told them that it was a VW van.
Check out the trailers at any place close by. they have 2 types.
